New Admission agreement

2026/2027

Due to the school now forming part of an academy the Admission authority now sits with the Academy Trust (James Montgomery Academy Trust) instead of the Local authority. With this comes a new admission agreement that will take effect in 2026/2027 academic year.

Consultation Period

(5th of November to 17th of December 2024)

The trust has to allow a consultation period to take place over a 6-week period with all stakeholders (parents, diocese, governors, local authority and wider community). Within this timeframe if anyone has an issue or concern within the content of the document please contact school who will pass the information over to the trust.

After the consultation period has come to an end the admission agreement will be approved by the governing board and will be added to the school website on the 15th of March 2025.

The agreement does not change or impact the way that you apply for a school place, this just means that the trust informs the local authority of the admission arrangements that each school has in place for entry to school.

Please read through the agreement below, changes made form last year have been highlighted in yellow

Admission Agreement 2026/2027

Our Published Admission Number (PAN) is currently 30.

Please note that all our admissions are processed by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. Links to their applications information and admission arrangements can be found on this page.

In line with Local Authority policy, places at our school are allocated following receipt of parental preferences according to these criteria:

  • Children living in the school’s designated catchment area

  • Children living outside the catchment area who have older siblings already on roll

  • Children who have a specific medical reason confirmed by a medical practitioner which the Local Authority is satisfied makes attendance at the school essential

  • Children with a compelling social reason which the Local Authority is satisfied makes attendance at the school essential

Entry to School

Children can take up a part-time place (15hrs per week) in Foundation Stage One at the start of the school year following their 3rd birthday. They transfer full-time into Foundation Stage Two at the beginning of the Autumn term of the academic year in which they have their 5th birthday.

More information about our Foundation Stage provision is contained in our booklet ‘Off to a Good Start’ which is available to download at the bottom of this page.

In-Year Applications

An application can be made for a place for a child at any time outside the normal admission round and the child will be admitted where there are available places. The Local Authority will, in so far as is possible, coordinate all in-year transfers for all voluntary aided schools and academies in Rotherham in 2022/23.

Parents should complete a common application form (Transfers) which can be obtained by contacting the School Admissions Team on 01709 823777.

Where there are places available but more applications than places, the published oversubscription criteria, as set out in the Admissions to Primary School Booklet, will be applied.

If there are no places available, the child will be added to the waiting list.

You will be advised of the outcome of your application in writing, and you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.
